Hi guys,

search function did not return much so I'm asking directly :

will the current ubuntu 64bit kernel support the following hardware :

Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer mobo
Intel Xeon W3540/W3570
two (3*4Gb) Crucial triple channel ram sticks PC8500 ECC for a total of 24gigs :)
nvidia GeForce 7200 fanless
3*500Gb seagate drives @ 7200 rpm (1 for /, 2 for /home and swap in softraid 0) .

Thanks!

Pardon the necrophilia.

I am currently looking at a similar workstation and any insight would be appreciated. Actually I'm looking at the W3570 and 3 dimms of 1333MHz memory totaling 12GB. Same mb though, with two "old" GT9600's (triple monitor setup with Xinerama).

I imagine the new kernels have no issue with the cpu and eec memory as it's actually server hardware, but it would be good to know how well the mb is supported for desktop/workstation use before I ruin my pension. This system is primarily used for work, but the occasional recreation as well.

Thanks!
