Hello,

I am pretty new to ubuntu. I just downloaded and installed it this weekend.

I am using a laptop whose hard drive I've partitionned to be able to use windows again with certain programs.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the updates automatically. After reboot I got 2 ubuntu options (where I am supposed to chose the operating system) instead of the only 1 I had (not considering the recovery ones) and I still have my windows option.

Is that normal to have another ubuntu option at boot?

I hope it doesn't do this at each updates... How can I correct it?

Thank you

This is normal. Sometimes a kernel update can cause problems on some hardware.

Nice to have a fallback.

You can install startupmanager from synaptic and limit how many kernels to display etc.

Or to install easy use firefox address bar.
