Hello!

I recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my PS3.
And I cannot go back to XMB!!
I tried running everything I could from the terminal, boot-game-os, ps3-boot-game-os!
and nothing.

First it asked me to download packages, but my internet didn't work on ubuntu with the play station 3! Don't know why.
And then, I can now run Ubuntu in a GUI!! It shoots me an error, and now I am only running from terminal.

What can I do?

First step: get a newer version of Ubuntu. The repositories for 7.04 are no longer available. And try not to "bump" your thread too often.

Try holding down the power button for 10 seconds it will reset the default boot back to your xmb.

for some reasons the PS3 controller is not syncing with the PlayStation 3. :( Any other ideas?

if keeping your finger held on the power button on the box got you back to the XMB then try plugging your controller in with the usb and it should resync...
