Actually theres already some Samba included in the standart installation of 8.04

If I easyly mount sth. like "c$ on 192.168.178.31" on my Desktop with
smb://192.168.178.31/c$/
I can go by Nautilus/Gnome to the Windows PC , but in the terminal this place is not listed.

Last time I installed some missing samba routines to do smbmount with an usual folder.
This folder was listed then in the terminal and I could use terminal commands
to count files with a special pattern.
But the side effect was that the Windows printer was no more reachable. It has disappeared from the printer configuration (On my system).

Finally I made a new installation, so the Windows printer (more important than the terminal)
was there again.

Maybe theres a way to reach my neighbor office Windows computer by terminal the next time with the tools that are already there?
But how?
