Alright basically my laptop crashed, Windows Startup Repair don't work and neither does it boot normally. Basically nothing boots, except the recovery disk which only allows you to format and bring everything to factory settings.

Since that is my only option to probably save my laptop, How can I save some of my files before re-installing Vista?

Thanks.

Well, you can download Ubuntu and try running the Live CD and from there you may be able to transfer your files to an external HD.

Another option may be finding a Laptop IDE Hard Drive Adapter and connect your laptop HD to a Desktop PC.

Let me know if you have problems.
