system freezes

Dear all,

I've recently installed ubuntu 8.10 in my laptop (toshiba satellite M70-244). The issue is that it freezes a lot and I can't imagine why this is so. Does anybody know what might be happening, or of any kind of incompatibility with this kind of laptop?

It could be heat related. (It could also be power related, bat that's more an issue with PCs and not with laptops.) I don't know how new the toshiba satellite M70-244 model is, but if it's quite new, it's also possible it's better supported in 9.04 than in 8.10.
