i have a dell latitude cpx and I cant seem to get ubuntu to install, ive tried at least four cd's three freshly burned.

i cant get passed bout an 8th of the loading bar on booting from the live cd of just a plain installation.

i tried installing with wubi but it was the same thing happened.

every time i try i get some dialog saying something about starting kernal loading hard wear driver and something about starting the event log. i know its a good copy because ive used the iso atleast 15 times.

my laptop has a 20 gb hdd and 128 mb of ram and 498 MHz intel celeron processor i have windows xp pro sp2 installed.

i dont really like windows- windows brake. :)

not enough, to run a straight ubuntu install. it's just to little ram. you could try xubuntu using the text installer but it would be slow.

is there anyway you can upgrade your ram?

otherwise you'd be better off, trying a low spec distro made for machines like that. google is your friend.
