Just closed out a world of warcraft party at my House. We had 4 computers running wow at the same time. 2 were wired, 2 wireless. 3 had windows, 1 was ubuntu.
The details on the Ubuntu:
2 gigs DDR ram.
Nvidia 7500 GT card.
Unbuntu 9.04
Wine 1.1.24
IE 8 to get Curse clinet working.
AMD Dual core processor 64 [not sure about the rest of it, but it's not a "sporty chip" as I paid under 100 bucks for it nearly 2 years ago].
This computer is attached to a 42" 1080p TV.
Screen resolution after deciding to go for broke was ultra settings in WOW and the resolution was 1920 by 1080.
FPS was around 25 to 35.
My buddy has an Alienware M17. He was very impressed with what I was able to do with linux and wine.
His PC had 2 ATI sli cards, so his farme rate was well over 60.
Reguardless, I was very pleased with the way it operated.
The latency was around 60 to 100MS on the network.
