Hi All,

Please excuse this question if it is a bit simple - I'm a bit of a newbie to Linux.

Just install Ubuntu 9.04. All went well except that my Nic will only connect at 100MB (at lease that is according to "Connection Information".

Have tried using ethtool to force it, but it only seems to think it can go to 100MB. Have been searching for updated drivers but cannot find any that will compile - make all complains of undefined identifiers.

Currently still set up to dual boot WinXP - if I boot into XP, GB works fine.

The card is a Mecer branded card using the IC Pluss IP1000 Chip. "Connection Information" reports it as "Sundance Technology IPG Triple-Speed Ethernet"

Any advice?

Thanks

Nips

I've just gone to 11.04 and installed a new NIC, the Asus NX1101. Only goes to 100Mb/s and the driver shown is Sundance Technology IPG Triple-Speed Ethernet.Lots of threads about NICs not going to 1000Mb/s but none of the solutions have worked for me yet.

This seems like a similar problem and this thread came up in my searches which is why I posted here.
