View Full Version : Laggy Cursor on Unreal Tournament

Hey,

First of all I would like to say I have only been a constant linux user since about 3 days ago (been on and off alot over the last 6 years), and ubuntu has definately made me sit my *** in the chair and give it a good try.

I have found it quite easy to get solutions and this is (I hope) another good resource for finding answers to problems... (p.s. this is my first post :P)

My issue is with Unreal Tournament... this is the original 1999 version GOTY infact. I have managed to install it fine (along with other 3D games like PlanetPenguin Racer and Quake 3 Arena) and it works good, graphically it looks just as good as in Windows and my ATI drivers (fglrx from the ATI site) seem to be working.

The thing is, the higher the resolution I put UT at the more 'laggy' my mouse gets - basically it is slow to react to my movements... whether this be using the mouse as a cursor on the UT menu or for MouseLook in-game.

This does not happen in Quake III Arena which still works at 1280x1024 - however I have noticed that when in PlanetPenguin Racer I enable something called FSAA the same laggy cursor effect appears.

The specifications of my PC are more than needed for this game but I will put them below anyway - any help is greatly appreciated...

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2000+
RAM: 512mb DDR RAM
Graphics: ATI Radeon 9500 PRO

p.s. I am installing UT1999 using the loki installer, not using Wine.
