I am currently running the 8.10 version. I want to upgrade to 9.04 and need to know if it will overwrite all of my files. I don't want to have to move everything, but if I have to, I will. If I install 9.04, will is wipe out all of the files I already have saved on my computer?? I really want to upgrade, but need to know this first. Also, which disk do I install? I have a magazine that has two discs in it. One of them is the "live" version. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you very much!!

i would just backup your data and do a fresh install because updates arent the best thing to do

andthe live cd is a cd that you can preview ubuntu with.

you can install ubuntu from inside there its just an install cd with the ability to try ubuntu out

I see. I have been planning on getting an external hard drive so I can have all of my files between both of my computers. Maybe this is a good time to buy one. Thank you for the help!
