Hello,
I am currently really happy about running several games on my karmic ubuntu/kubuntu system, such as eve-online and WoW.
Now, Eve gets along with very few mouse buttons, but as you can imagine I need all the hotkeys I can get in WoW.
Now all my buttons return events in Kde or Gnome or plain X-safesession.
Not in WoW. The tilt-wheel and the top key just don't work.
I'd be happy about any pointers that are up-to-date.
Is it possible that wine does not even support more than 5 buttons? Because thats what it looks like. If thats the case - is there a patch?
Thanks.

Sorry,
I have an MX Revolution that I mostly, and preferably use. It really doesn't make much of a differen WHAT mouse I connect - I never ever had more than five distinguishable mouse buttons in wine so far.
btw - the best results in regards to "buttons correctly detected" are with the "almost empty x.org-conf". So no inputdevice section and such.
As stated: It works great on the Desktop. XEV returns the absolute correct events for ALL buttons.

After having read that support for more than 5 buttons should get implemented in wine I am still waiting. I shure hope it's coming.
Anyone aware of a patch, a workaround or updates?

+1 so youre saying there is a hardware limitation to 5 buttons in wine?
my lx8 is functioning the way it should be in ubuntu. there appears to only be some wine issue where it only recognizes 7 of the 9 buttons. i get left, right click, middle button and scroll wheel; however the page back/fwd and scroll left/right buttons map as button 5 and 4 respectively when i boot up wine (running wow). any idea where the hardware issue lies?
