How do you know if you've been banned from Ubuntu? Does it send an Email message to whoever mods have banned?

I think 1 of my posts was deleted (I didn't post any active links or URLs in that particular post). Do the site-moderators here have a rule against trying to connect with people away from this site?

I shared my Twitter & Instant messenger usernames at this site (without links). So is that the reason for the ban?

Finally, to address your title:Is it against Ubuntu Forums rules to share usernames with others here?
Yes, every person posting on the site should have his/her own account. Sharing accounts is not appropriate.

Yes, but he can't create another account with the same IP Address, because it's against the CoC. So his account will eventually get closed by another administrator.

Or is there an exception?

There are exceptions - for example when at a University - it's very likely that any 2 accounts can show as the same IP, despite being completely different people.

How do you mean "anything on mine?"

You would know if you had any infractions - they appear on your profile to yourself and the staff.

From reading this post, I don't think he meant sharing an account with multiple people. I thought he meant sharing a username for another stream of connection with someone who might not know how to connect with him. For instance, a post containing his twitter username, or his gmail address.

What do you mean? What distro it's based on? If so, it's based on Debian.

I think the UF server's are in the UK somewhere, Isle of something-or-other :)

Also - Mark has an account (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=13307) on the forum ;)
