i am wondering where i enter the pass key in the network manager when i try to access a wpa/psk wifi protected hotspot. the dialog box that says that "encryption keys are requires to access this network" appear and i know the password, but when i enter the password in the box, i am not allowed to click connect because the pass key, mlk5051 is 7 digits and at least 8 digits are required before i can click connect (i found that out when i added an extra space to it, but of course, that didnt get me connected). the odd thing is that others using windows are able to use the network with that password with no prob, but i cant.

it would help if i can get a screenshot of what to do here, please.

Linux requires a minimum 8 character WPA password to connect to a network. I do not know of a work around. If you know the owner of the hotspot you could ask them to add one more character to the password. Sorry i cannot be more help.
