Hi All,

I am using Dell Inspiron 1525.
I am a newbie to Ubuntu. I am trying to switch completely from Vista to Ubuntu. The most important step in it is getting my internet connection work. I used to connect to Internet through my friends laptop, which runs Windows XP.

Here is the wireless setting, as given by windows.

Network Name (SSID): MyHome
Network Key (WEP/WPA Key): c17988bcc3594e68b886c5b1d2
Key Proided Automatically (802.1x): 0
Network Authentication Type: open
Data Encryption Type: WEP
Connection Type: ESS
Key Index:

I have Ubuntu 9.01 installed and I tried to connect through Network Manager 0.7.

Here is the steps I followed:

1. I left clicked on the NM icon in system tray, selected MyHome network.

2. It asked a key for wireless security with the WEP 40/128-bit Key selected. I input the key c1798......

The NM icon changed into 2 green dots for sometime and it again asked for the network key. I gave the same key again and same thing happened. The key works perfectly in windows. But I don't know whats the problem with Ubuntu.

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks.
