Hello all,

I am new to the Linux/Kubuntu world and I have really enjoyed it since the install (2 days ago). I've messed around with Knoppix Live which led me to a full install. I discovered Falcon's Eye / Nethack in Knoppix.

I used Synaptic to install Falcon's Eye in Breezy. the install was fine and the game launches and goes through the initial setup. Once the game screen starts, I loose my mouse. I can see it when I scroll the the edge of the screen. But when I go into the gaming window, poof! Also, if I happen to scroll across the menu buttons at the bottom, they start blacking out too.

Also, is there supposed to be sound with this game? Any ideas? And please don't tell me this is a non-mouse game and I just asked a stupid question. I'm gnu at this. hehe.

Thanks. ~Gary

From what I've read a lot of places (having about the same problem as you), Falcon's Eye is no longer a supported game and it hangs up on a lot of people after character creation.

From what I understand (all from reading around), the way to go these days is Vulture's Eye, which is a fork of Falcon's Eye. It also comes with a hack 'n slash game.

I plan on downloading it myself in a few days (after I get caught up and train on Wesnoth a bit for the tourney). The screenshots look alright, and I'm anxious to see what's been done with it.

This is exactly what happens for me. I create my character, and then the game crashes.

Thanks! I'll check that out!
