In my profile under Statistics and General Information what is Referrals for?

Thanks for your input.

It's the number of referrals you have. For example, if you refer your friend to these forums, and during registration, he puts your name as the referrer, then you'll get one referral.

Wish I could find out who marked me as a referrer.

That's what it meant?

I always thought that the number of referrals represented the number of times a person was considered to be a candidate for future Moderator.

I was happy to see 1 referrals in my profile. I though to myself: "Yay! Someone thinks I can be a mod!"

I have no idea how to tell who has referred anyone..... perhaps someone you know or whom you've helped before they signed up?

[hypothetical situation]

You know me in real life. You have been using ubuntu for several years and just turned me on to it. You suggest I get an account at ubuntuforums.org.

I creat the account, and notice the section asking if anyone reffered me to the site. I enter your username.

You now have one referral from me, because I did this.

That would account for one of the three I have, where the other two came from, who knows...

Don't know if I'd have the patience to be a mod, based on some of what I've seen in the resolution center recently.......

I don't know I'd want to be one, either - I certainly wouldn't ask for it, but if I was asked......

42, give or take a few billion.

I have 2 referrals last time I checked. I know who gave them to me as they told me in real life (Brother + Work Colleague).
