WOAH....why are the forums so messed up today!?!?

I've recently installed ubuntu & have been very impressed with it up to now. Yet one of my favourite games, WolfET, runs awfully... much worse than it did on Debian. I'm baffled as to what the problem is, can anyone help? Here's the console output:

What is your framerate in GLXgears?

If it is hella low you prolly aren't running with hardware acceleration. If that is the case you can peep the Ubuntu Wiki for more info or do a search of forum topics.

If that is not the case... well... keep posting! ;)

256MB - 8MB Integrated Graphics = 248MB.

I don't think 8MB is suffice for America's Army.

You could have permission issues with your /home/.etwolf folders,
particularly for Punkbuster
I am running (and have been for some time) with Punkbuster disabled .
Try this wiki for further info..

81 frames in 5.0 seconds = 16.157 FPS
154 frames in 5.1 seconds = 30.461 FPS
148 frames in 5.0 seconds = 29.487 FPS
121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.120 FPS
163 frames in 5.0 seconds = 32.280 FPS
132 frames in 5.0 seconds = 26.219 FPS
127 frames in 5.1 seconds = 25.088 FPS
152 frames in 5.0 seconds = 30.259 FPS
120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.946 FPS
121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.167 FPS
156 frames in 5.0 seconds = 31.097 FPS

Pretty awful considering I'm used to a steady ~80 fps in ET on reasonable settings. Thanks for the help so far I'll get reading up on hardware acceleration & let you know how it goes.

Aha! I was wondering how to rectify that. Set the permissions properly now I think, cheers mate.

As far as I can tell it's running, used these three sources as others have done before in these forums:

http://www.zen46671.zen.co.uk/Xorg.0.log
http://www.zen46671.zen.co.uk/glxinfo.txt
http://www.zen46671.zen.co.uk/xorg.conf

Baffled!

Weird!

Anyone have any advice/tips to help solve my problem? Would be much appreciated...

What have you discovered?

Well, as far as I can tell, it's configured correctly...

Really unsure what the problem could be
