I have been using ubuntu 9.04 in virtualbox 3.0. I noticed that after I updated the guest additions that visual effects started acting funny, (menu's would linger around after I had clicked on an item in the menu, menu's would have to focus themselves). Then I upgraded to virtualbox 3.02 and installed the guest additions associated with virtualbox 3.02. After I did that and restarted ubuntu I got a login screen squished into the top of my screen about an inch wide. I was still able to login. After I logged in I got the same screen for the desktop. Here's the weird part if instead of logging in I did ctrl + alt + f1 to get to the terminal window and then ctrl + alt + f7 to go back to the graphical login, it would work. Everything was as it should be, the login was filling the screen and so was the desktop after I logged in. What happened that would cause it to do this and how can I fix this?
