I've seen posts with a word underlined which links to a webpage/reference. How do you do that?

You highlight the phrase you want to link in your message. Then you click on the "link" icon in the toolbar above your text and when it opens you insert the web address into the blank field and click on OK

That there is how I managed to show you samples and then what they do. Wrap them around any text you dont want to parse.
