View Full Version : [ubuntu] Adding a Windows Partition?

I know that when I overwrote Windows with Ubuntu, it gave me the option to make it a separate partition, to dual boot with. I didn't really like Windows at the time, so I said screw it and went 100% Ubuntu. But now, I'm trying to play some Windows games, and while WINE does its best, it just doesn't really cut it for some. I'm a beginner, so it took me quite a few months to get my Ubuntu up and running the way I like it (Preferences and whatnot) So I'd rather not completely format, and then set up Dual Boot afterwards. Is there a way to just add a Windows partition to the existing system the way it offered to do the other way around when loading Ubuntu?

Any help or suggestions is/are massively appreciated.

I find these guides useful:

You can choose the windows version and the order of the installation.

Thank you so much. I'm currently backing up my information to an external drive, and then I'll be trying this. Updates to follow.

Another way is to use a virtual machine.
