xbox dance pad just blinks

i have recently acquired a konami xbox360 dance pad. When i plug in with usb the controlers led ring blinks but it seems the pads fail to be recognized as nothing shows up in regards to input in jscal, or stepmania

i have using modprobe for xpad, joydev and a couple of other suggestions found at the stepmania website but im not exactly if anything was affected.

any ideas on how i can get this pad recognized as a game controler/joystick?

would this be similar to setting up a regular controler?

sorry, i still haven't figured out what was going on, i have two xbox pads that do the same thing. Luckly i found an adpter for my ps2 pad on craig's list. Actually, i posted a wanted ad, got to make sure it worked and everything lol.

now i am going to go install xboxdrv and see if that works

EDIT: lets see got source, installed dependencys and now it will not compile... gimme a couple of days I'll fix it
