Really nice.

Just curious, but my guess is that you did that in Photoshop, not GIMP. Was I right?

yeah, i'm on a family owned computer right now,the same object can be achieved with gimp though, most definitly

I would place the logo at one of the 1/3 points (powerpoints) to give it more impact. But otherwise appropriate for Halloween.

Nice one, would give the logo a more "splatter" look, more like it is a splat of paint.

Didn't you use the elephant skin background and just filter in a ubuntu symbol+paintsplats?
I really should start making backgrounds again and show you kids how it's done...

I used a grunge paper background multiple times with many different times with some advanced lighting effects. ubuntu logo pasted in and the splatter is my made all by myself.
