It seems like a pretty cool service but there really isn't anything spectacular about it but yeah its pretty cool I guess.

Here is a screen shot of what it looks like via the browser.

I remember reading something about being able to send invites to other people on the intro page but I don't know how to do it right off the top of my head. If anyone is interested in an invite then let me know and I will see if I can locate where it mentioned how to do it and I will gladly hand them out to the first people who ask.

Members can not hand out invites at the moment. EDIT: see my next post.

+1, personally, but I'm open to see what there is. Had my account since the service was open to Ubuntu Members, but haven't really done anything with it.

Also, moving this to the Ubuntu One forum.

I have received several requests for the invites and I will be glad to send them if someone can tell me how to do so! I know I have some to send I remember reading it when I first signed up, the only problem is I had a bit of vodka in me when I made the account and I can't remember what it said to do to send the invites. Also for those who requested an invite and didn't leave me an email address please pm me and email address, I remember that I need that much anyway. Thanks.

Actually, I googled around and it seems you can do a makeshift invite by sharing a folder with an email address that doesn't have an account.

I have hopes for Ubuntuone, but have to agree about preferring Dropbox which is great for synchronising across different platforms.

As of right now, ubuntu one is still under EARLY development, so let's get our faith up for the end product.

Ubuntu one is pretty cool according to my experience, but now I still use dropbox as the main file hosting/syncing service.

Let's just keep beta testing and make contributes to U1:P.

reprobus,
I remember reading an article about ubuntu one, the article says that ubuntu one will be every successful as long as it is free, for me I don't mind paying for the service if it can make my life easier, right now I work on 3 computers, have to carry a usb drive all the time, ubuntu one is probably what I need. would be great if you can send me an invite :) please.....

I have already sent several invites to different people, I dunno if there is a limit as to how many I can send but if I have one left then I will gladly send it your way, just pm your email address and if I have one more available then its yours.
