Anyone tried UFO:Alien Invasion yet?

It looks like my kind of game (here's it's Sourceforge page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ufoai)), but I'm more than a bit of a clueless n00b, so was hoping to find out if anyone had had any success getting it to run under Ubuntu before struggling to install it.

Well... UFO: AI was one of the most anticipated free games. Unfortunately, the dev. process was stopped, or slowed down drastically. The devs stopped replying at their forums etc. The official site: www.ufoai.net - I hope the guy who decided to develop it now will achieve something.

The game was promising to absolutely pwn... :(

Ah, thanks for the info dolny - what a shame. I got a bit excited seeing recent posts on their forum, but it turned out they were all people asking if the project was dead!
Still, the consensus there seemed to be it may spring to life again. Here's hoping.
