Hi, wine should be listed under Applications, if it is not there check Main Menu (System>Pref>Main Menu) under "Items" that the box next to wine is ticked"

I have had times when I install stuff from Synaptic and not 'Applications > Add/Remove,' I have had to restart X, generally I just logout and log back in and then its there.
Also, WINE is generally listed in your applications menu.
I hope this helps.
