ubuntu9.04 on macbook 5,2 can't take me into virtual termianl..

machine id : macbook 5,2
ubuntu version : ubuntu 9.04 jaunty

when i push key combination of ctrl, alt and F1, nothing happens..
virtual terminal must appear on screen when i do that though, nothing happens..

i use virtual terminal to kill processes when graphic interface does not work at all.
but now with this machine i won't be able to do that..

is it only me or also happened to you? and any solution?

On MacBook 5,1 I have to push the combination fn + CTRL + ALT + F1.
