Hello everyone.
I want that my pc do something like this:

I mean like doing that the virtual machine looks like a ubuntu Desktop and that it let me change between desktops in a fast and easy way. Also, it is possible that whenever I start my computer the virtual machine could be open and set at that mode(fullscreen)and in a different desktop that is not the one that you see when you start your PC.

Basically I want that everytime that I start my pc I would be able to use XP just changing the desktop.

If it is possible, I dont care if the guide is with VMware,Virtual box, or any other.

P.S:sorry for the bad English, it is not my first language, and thx if you can use your time helping me

I don't really have time to go into details, but I would use Virtualbox.

Read the sticky threads (Mega Virtualization thread)... It'll have tons of info on it.

You can set it to autostart:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=758568

Although I suggest not autostarting a virtual machine, as it uses lots of resources and unless you really need Windows to be running all the time, you'd be better off starting it manually ;)

The way that is used to change desktops in that video is by Compiz (3D openGL special effects)

Easiest way to change desktops is ctrl-alt+ left or right arrow.

Good luck :)

thx for the reply.

I can make vmware workstation or player to autostart in full screen with this command:

vmplayer -X <-path to virtual machine->
vmware -X <-path to virtual machine->

Now I only need that it starts in a different desktop and that i can easily change between desktops(when I do it ,the virtual machine move to the other desktop).

Edit: I dont know why when i use VMware and i change the desktop VmMware also moves, that doesnt happen with virtual box
