9.04 vs 8.10

Due to the intel video probs i have been having and searching on the net and trying various things . What are the downfalls to downgrading and waiting on 9.10 for a hopeful fix?

No real downfalls. 8.10 is a good release and is supported until October 2010 as far as security fixes goes.
