Hi
i have installed ubuntu 9.04 64 bit on my laptop (Asus F5N) and the whole system is very slow... It may be because of the 64 bit version.
Can i downgrade the OS from 64 to 32 or do i have to download it?

There is no downgrade path so, if you decide to go this route, you'll need to download the 32-bit version and do a fresh install.

What exactly is the problem though?

I've used 64-bit for some time now, and I doubt that going to 32-bit is going to solve your issue. You might be better off trying to troubleshoot what's causing your slow-down.

As i said the whole system is slow: starting a program is slow, firefox is slow, which slow-down the internet connection etc.

I would say that its a problem either with the pc/laptop or the installation. like Ra-Hoor-Khuit (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=868231) I have started using 64-bit Ubuntu, though i've noticed that it performs better than my 32-bit, though that may be due to the poin t that my 32 bit is an external and my 64 bit is internal. Also check that the processor is at least 64 bit capable. my laptop with the internal installation is a 1.6Ghz single cored thing with 2 GB RAM which is 64 bit capable.
