I have an Inspiron 1545, using Ubuntu 9.04, just installed today. The only problem I have not been able to solve so far is how to use my built-in webcam. The Device Manager says this:

Model: Integrated Webcam
Subsystem: video4linux

So, what do I do? I have run the command: 'webcam' and the light comes on, but I don't know how to take a picture or capture video or anything like that, What do I do? Thanks

To use the webcam, you should download some software for it. So, I guess my question is: what exactly do you want to do with it?

Try Cheese:
sudo apt-get install cheeseOr you can just hunt it down in Synaptic, if you'd prefer.

Cheese will allow you to take photos and video.

I have the same computer and my webcam works great with everything but flash. I don't know if there's much you can do about that, though.

Just post again if this is a little fuzzy. I'd be glad to answer questions.
