Hi!

I have a mini 9i w/4gb HD.

I'd like to upgrade to a larger/faster HD.

Ant suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi KegHead, I personally am still using my factory drive, but I've heard good things about the replacement drives from mydigitaldiscount.com. They are available from 16-64gb. Make sure you get one that is specifically designed for the Dell Mini 9. Good luck!

i would get a Super Talent ssd for the dell mini 9.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150636+1421548207&QksAutoSuggestion=&Configurator=&Subcategory=636&description=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=

make sure it says it is design for the Dell Mini 9 model. if it doesn't state it, dont buy it. make sure dont get confuse them with the different model that is design for the ASUS Eee PC. ASUS Eee PC SSD won't fit in the Dell mini 9.

it is easy to unscrew and place it in. there are instructions on youtube if you need it.

Hi!

I'm pulling the trigger on a super talent 16gb drive this week.

I'll advise results.

I recently purchased a SuperTalent DoubleWide 64gb ssd for one of my mini 9s. It was a bit pricey but I feel well worth it. The installation was easy and I feel like it performs well.

It is nice to have so much memory. Dual booting isn't so tight anymore and I don't have to worry about storing files on thumbdrives.

Hope your purchase works out well for you!

Hi!

I got confirmation that egghead sent my 16gb ssd.

I'll slam it in asap.

Any thoughts about ext4 on a Dell mini w/ssd?

Ext4 is fine on the Mini. I have a 32gig drive with separate / and /home partitions, with no swap. Formatted as ext4' Works great.
