I have lost my mouse and don't know why? The mouse works on another drive with Ubuntu on it so it is not the mouse itself. It is almost impossible to navigate in Ubuntu with no mouse.I believe that I need to go backwards and maybe uninstall something that is interfering with it.What can I do to try and fix this?
P.S. I also un-installed anything I could think of that could cause it.At one point it said that something was tracking control of my mouse.I had installed Ksplice and FYI don't use this crap! I even used the Recovery option when booting with no success.I used mdetect and it saw a mouse from the command line but when it get to the login screen the mouse locks.

Thanks,

Lewis M

Have you tried rebooting and unplugging the mouse?, maybe you should search for some drivers if that doesn't do it. I dunno.. Windows did it to me alot of times..

Got the same problem. Mouse works on 2 other ubuntu pc's, but not on an Intel PC (pentium M, Aopen i915Gg... bla motherboard).
Hardy seems to be no problem. I think it's a kernel bug. I have seen lots of posts of people with this problem. Trying to boot with all kinds of kernel options. No luck.
It sucks, I go search for another distro, or wait for resolving of this issue with karmic...?
