Hello,

Is it possible to do directory/file sharing from an ubuntu desktop, or is it mandatory to use a server edition for that purpose ?

Tanks for your replies

You can try sshfs to mount remote filesystems to your local directory tree.

In case you need a Samba LAN Primer for Ubuntu / Kubuntu: follow this link (http://ubuntu.swerdna.org/ubulanprimer.html).
