I got wine to work near flawlessly I can run world of warcraft but the graphics look almost monochrome, the colors and skins are messed up. My guess is the video driver. I already tried to lower detail and that didn't work, I loaded the driver from ATI and it seemed to install but I still have the issue. I am using an ATI Radeon 9000. My question is... is there a better card, possibly Nvidia, a better driver or do I need to get Mesa? I love Ubuntu but I just wish I could get the graphics figured out so i can play... Also anyone know a good video player that supports .avi .mpg and dvd formats? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you asked, yes you'd do better with nVidia cards, better driver support.
As for movies try maybe totem or mplayer (or both)
