I would think nearly all game related posts would be common to both flavors, so having two forums seems like an undesireably split of users. I know we aren'nt supposed to cross post, but then it seems like the chances of everyone reading a general interest post is less.

I couldn't agree more!
I always post (not completely true) in the ubuntu gaming section! - I simply reach more users that way!

You certainly got a point here! Why split up when we can be a big gaming community?

You know... Y'all are right. There is no point in seperating the gaming, it is all on LINUX right? Desktop preference is a minor matter which has no relevence. Lets just be one happy fam.

So can they create a new Gaming Section that is outside of both flavors sections?

But what about all the existing threads? - should the content of each category be merged?
That'd be my vote :)
P.S. And if for some insane reason something was specific to one or the other, maybe use the mod the Customization Forum makes use of?
Edit: Love to know how I did that.... (reply above message I quoted, lol)

...As easy as creating all other categories!

Sounds great to me... btw, off topic but what has happened to the forums. Am I crazy or are they slowly changing, like buttons are different and where did the time since the post stat go. I miss that stat.

I seventh this motion (this might get weird)
It's a good idea, especially when it comes to driver/gameplay issues.

Agreed...what's up with the Kubuntu/Ubuntu split? Gaming is gaming on both of those flavours...desktop preference shouldn't be so much of an issue in the Linux community. Let's focus on making things work! :)
