apple ipod 3rd gen help

Hello i am using kubuntu and i have a ipod nano 3rd gen and so far when i plug it in the usb port the computer wont detect it at all and so far i have tried everything and still nonething

maybe im doing something wrong could somebody help me,

My Ipod Nano 3rd generation 4GB work ok with Rhytmbox. No problemo. I even use it like a pen drive its mounted as a external disk out of box. Sorry i have no solution, i use Ubuntu Gnome.
