View Full Version : S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky Crashes

I did absolutely everything in the WineHQ howto and the game works fine, except whenever I load a game or start a new one, it gets stuck at CLIENT: Synchronizing. I've left it there for hours before, but it never finishes. Sometimes it immediately exits the process as well.

I'm running x64 Linux Mint 7, which is pretty much x64 Jaunty, and the Not enough memory message is a total lie because my processor is 2.80 GHz, I have 3GB RAM, and my hard drive has over 230GB free.

Through the terminal, half the time it will hang at CLIENT: Synchronizing right after this message:

The other half it closes itself immediately with the message, "Not enough memory."

Right before it closes itself, and while it hangs, it's still using about 40% of my CPU and the process is in the Running status.

EDIT: What the hell? I've made zero changes to my system or the game, but now suddenly every single time It launches it gives that previous error before even reaching the pre-main-menu movies and hangs. In fact the entire window is invisible now.

Memory error is all I can say, use google could have sworn there was a wine version that worked with clear sky.
Nevermind found http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14790
Always check the wine database before giving up.
follow the instructions and you should be set.

I already said that I checked the WineHQ page for Clear Sky and followed every single step. I'm still getting an error that no one else seems to have.
