I am playing with KDE on my netbook and one issue I am having is that my screen is only 1000x600 resolution and the network manager cuts off on me so I cannot see my cricket modem to select it to connect... Is there a way I can adjust the text size or get it to scroll down so I can see everything there?...

Your post is old but in case you check. I have a EeePC 900 with Jaunty Kubuntu.
You can drag the components of the Network Manager window around to reorder, even tear a part off and put on desktop. Another option is to close parts you do not need.

Good to know, for now I have gone back to Gnome, but I will keep that in mind if I go back to KDE on the little guy.

You could also Alt-drag the window higher on the screen so you can see the hidden items.
