Installing USB Headset in Dell Inspiron 6400

I am a novice in linux and using Ubuntu 9.04 on Dell Inspiron 6400. I connected a USB headset [model HS-4075p (http://www.trust.com/15487)] but Dell couldn't detect that completely. That headset has a volume controller to control the volume of laptop. That controller worked well but the ear-phone and microfone didnot work.

How to make that work? Any suggession?

i'm getting the same problem too. Went onto the volume control panel, set the USB device as the default sound peripheral, still doesn't work.
