Uhmmm... First of all an organizational suggestion. I don't think that, as far as gaming is concerned, the desktop flavor makes such a difference, therefore I think the two gaming sections should be merged.
Now, to my question. :)

I run many of my game via cd images, be them .iso or .cue or .bin and so on... To load them in Windows I use Daemon tools, even if there are many other programs like Alcohol 120% etc. etc.
I doubt that these programs run on Wine, due to the nature of them and of the emulation that Wine gives...
But perhaps the .iso can be mounted via "mount" somewhat?
Or, if not, how can I replace Daemon Tools in Linux?

Thank you
Marco

Read this:

to see how to mount an image. I'm not sure how well it works for .cue or .bin files, I've only used it for ISO files.

Another thing about Windows games, CD images and linux. I believe (but I haven't tried it) that cedega will mount a CD image for you.

There's a terminal utility that you can install called bchunk that converts cuesheets into ISO. i think it's available in the repositories.

Yeah but CEDEGA isn't free; Wine is. :)
However, thank you both for the tips, I'll try your suggestions... I'll let you know if I can make things work also for .cue and .mds
