Hello,

I have a problem which I hope someone can help me with:

aplay -l
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog]
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 1: ALC883 Digital [ALC883 Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: ATI HDMI [ATI HDMI]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I am using [ALC883 Digital] as my output.
PROBLEM: only one application can play something at a time. If I have smplayer playing something, xmms won't work, and the other way around.
QUESTION: how can I use the digital output with several application playing at the same time?

Thanks a bunch.

Hi.

Please, I still have the problem. It seems everytime I browse the web for some time, firefox takes control over the sound card and I have to close all firefox in order for xmms to be able to play.
Can someone please help? It's very annoying.
Can also someone please tell me what should I do in order to see which applications use which hardware resources.

Thanks a lot!
