Cannot resolve group student to gid : not found

i just configured new Ldap server in ubuntu 9.4. I tried to adduser but i got a error msg

cannot resolve group student to gid:not found

anyone can help me?

can you post the command that you are using and the contents of /etc/group

Ya Sure

Sudo ldapadduser madhavan admin

Here madhavan is User name
admin is a group

I can able to add the group and can't add the user
