hi me and a friend are working on making a podcast. we have the domain name set up and the rss feed registered but have run into a hitch. we where planning to use a voip program to record the podcast but could not find one to meat our needs.
1:we're both broke so applications like skype that'll cost $100's aren't an option.
2:he uses a dell running windows and I'm using my ubuntu box.
3:his computer sucks. not horrible but programs like teamskeak cause his computer to be so bogged down that he can't even run fire fox.
so I looking for a free (or low 1 time fee) service that workes with both pc and linux and can work on a pc with a intel pentium 1.4ghz processor and 1 gig of ram.

Err... Skype is free...

If you're referring to the cost of Skype recording software, there's an excellent free Skype recorder for Ubuntu at http://atdot.ch/scr/ . They even have a deb. Go crazy. :)

sudo apt-get install skype
it's totally free.
