Dear Dell,
I just bought myself a Color laser printer named: Dell 1235cn. To my dissapointment I can not find any drivers for Ubuntu. Please advise what to do?
Best regards,

Can I use any other drivers for Dell printers to get this to work? Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello,
I think you have the .RPM drivers for the printer on the dvd (they say on the flyer that it should work with Fedora Red Hat and Suse).
You should try with the alien command to convert it to a .deb file.
Maybe you're able to read a french docu I just found online ?

(I am thinking of buying this printer and to use it on ubuntu, so I'll be glad to get some comments of how it works !)
best regards

I didn't find a rpm-file, and Dell support told me that there is no Linux support for this printer. But they gave me the hint to try to install it as Samsung printer.
I tried to use the driver for Samsung CLX-3175 and it works fine as printer.
But I still haven't installed the scanner and the fax.

Thanks! This works fine for printing. I guess we have to wait for Dell to make some working drivers for the scanner/copy.

At OpenPrinting.org (http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-CLX-3175#comment-51489794) one user say that the scaner of the Samsung printer works with sane-xerox_mfp driver. I didn't tried with the Dell but it maybe works...
