I am using GDL to plot up some data. I am an astronomer and very familiar with IDL. I have noticed though that most of the IDL routines involving GUIs or widgets are missing from the GDL library. I tried to XPLOT3D today and it doesn't have the .pro file anywhere. Is there an alternate library I need to download? I also noticed that READ_ASCII exists but ASCII_TEMPLATE does not, another GUI program. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. GDL is so awesome and I want to keep using it!!
