I've been searching online for the highest quality (and preferably least expensive) USB to PS/2 converter cable for my forthcoming System 76 laptop. Has anyone here purchased these types of cables, and, if so, which is the most reliable cable for use in Linux?

I have never rarely used the cables, just the short adapters.

I have never had a problem with any usb / ps2 adapter I have used. My most frequent use is with old computers lacking usb ports or where the usb port is broken. It is sad that it is hard to find anything but a USB mouse these days.

The other use I have is using a wireless mouse / keyboard with a KVM. Most older KVM do not have a usb port so use a usb wireless keyboard / mouse w/ a splitter to connect to the KVM switch.

If I'm understanding you correctly, any USB to PS/2 adapter or cable will work? With that being said, I will be able to plug in my PS/2 devices into the converter and use them on USB-centric computers?

I have used a variety of adapters over many years and never had a problem.

I hope your experience is similar.
