[SOLVED] Administrative Password

I have a Dell netbook with Ubuntu. I set the administrative password for my netbook and I don't remember it. I can't install anything or update it without the password. Is there anything I can do if I forgot the password?

I followed the instructions on the attached link. This did not work. When my netbook boots, nothing happened when I pressed Esc. I was able to get into the system set up, but not the boot menu to start the recovery mode.
I am using version 8.04. Any help would be appreciated.
