View Full Version : [ubuntu] ftp software ? installed but cant find it

Hello I have Ubuntu server. For some software I need FTP support. I have tried to install ftp software though < sudo apt-get install FTP*> but it conflicts with existing ftp software on the system. The thing is I cant find the software already installed on the system can some-one give me some help ? I will never run joomla (http://joomla.org/) with out it ... :sad:

There is a very basic ftp client software installed by default. What you are looking for is an ftp server. I personally use proftpd, but there are several others, pure-ftp and vsftpd plus more. The ftp servers mentioned are all in the repositories.
