Hi,

I've got a Dell Inspiron 15, and am enjoying Ubuntu on it very much. This laptop has interesting hotkeys though, and I have a bit of a conundrum. This laptop is supposed to have a situation like a Mac, where instead of Fn-F2 to turn the Wifi on and off, you simply hit 'F2'. This is right as it is the same situation in Vista, and I was very impressed that Ubuntu managed to detect this, so its not just an error.

While I am sure this would be wonderful to new and confused users, I find it really annoying that whenever I try to open an Alt-F2 run dialogue, it always turns off my Wifi (and doesn't even start the program :frown:). I looked in the Keyboard Shortcuts program and that didn't have any options for the Wifi switcher (I actually have found that the higher numbers I don't use much, so its not a problem), so is there a way to change that setting?

Thanks very much.

You can change this behavior in the bios.
- Press F2 on boot
- Advanced -> Function Key Behavior -> Function Key First
